I've always been an avid knitter
with the occasional dabble in crochet but last year I really kick started my
crochet into action and it’s taken over knitting in a big way.
This Huge blanket started off as a
little granny square practice and turned into a lovely gift for my Moms 80th
Birthday.
We moved to a new house in April
and Mom took it away in its early stages to sew in the ends for me and we had
so much crap everywhere I think she was just trying to save it. So, after
a few hints that she had tried it on her bed for size I thought I must finish
it and finish it I did (which for me who never finishes anything was a massive
achievement) so here it is in all its glory. I took quite a few pictures of it along its journey, so I thought I'd share some with you.
I was going to talk you through its
progress and write a bit of a blurb for each photo but really, I'm thinking can
anyone be arsed to read the description on every photo? have you ever
been presented with a photo album or an iPad full of photos by an well-meaning
excited friend who’s just been on holiday, or who’s been to a wedding or
something similar and they talk you through every photo, every daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, great aunt, cousin 5th removed, get the picture ? Death by
photos lol.
So instead I've just picked a few
ahem well a lot of photos they aren't in order because as I'm typing this I’m
listening to 80's songs and I'd much rather do that than bore you to
death. Hopefully you'll have a quick skim through them and will survive.
I will however just tell you what I was up to during the making of The Marjorie June Blanket pictures.
During its progress I've ….
Moved house.
Changed Job twice
Lost my Uterus and my
Ovaries. well actually I didn't lose them A kind surgeon removed them for
me, but my body felt the loss for quite a while I can tell you.
lost 2 cats … One, I'm convinced
was stolen and the other sadly died, my little crochet friend. :(
Brought a Motorhome
visited Dawlish warren and
Prestatyn in said Motorhome.
Booked a trip to France in yes, you
got it, the Motorhome.
Celebrated my Moms 80'th
Watched my eldest buy and start his
own home with his lovely girlfriend.
Embarked on HRT and then chucked it
in the bin.
Watched my Daughter leave school when she only started school 5 minutes ago I'm pretty sure!
Watched her having driving lessons , when I'm pretty sure she's only about 5 years old .. oh yes that's in my head .. thankfully I only watch I'm not in the car :)
Made a new friend...… lost that
friend.
Oh God I can’t end with that what
else did I do??
Gained 2
Stone
Lost 1 of
them
Not much
more cheerful (Shit think of something)
Rekindled my taste for Gin.
Cried a lot!!
Drank a lot!!
learnt to laugh again.
