Pulling off the plaster twice.

I thought I would introduce this blog post with an awful picture of us trying to take a selfie in the wind.

So lots has happened since my last post, because as usual I always have the good intentions to blog regularly and it just never happens.

If you read my last post you will know that Steve brought a boat and we were going sailing lessons.  Well, we have so far had one lesson,  it wasn't very successful, the weather was awful so we couldn't actually go in the water, which if I am being honest I was quite relieved about.  And we both realised that we are not as flexible as we thought and we both struggled.   It could of been the fact that the boats were not much larger than a washing up bowl, or that I was absolutely rigid with cold.  I won't bore you too much with the details because I have already wrote a post all about it on my Instagram page.

And drumroll please ... I have finally started Uni.  I thought September would never come, I was so worried that I wouldn't pass my Math's exam and have to sit it again and not be able to start till next year.  I cannot begin to explain the relief when I had the results.  So I am 8 weeks in now.  It's all very much online which has been disappointing in a way, and its quite hard, I have to be strict with myself not to just sit and crochet instead of focusing on studying,  but there is a bonus, most of the lectures although live, they cannot see me so I do tend to sit and listen while I am crocheting, I have to keep quickly putting it down to make notes but I love any chance I can get to crochet.

Stacey has also started Uni in Liverpool.  My intro picture above is us taking her to her accommodation.   It was a lovely day, but very mixed emotions for me.   I was very excited for her and very proud and also very sad.  My baby girl leaving the nest.  I doubt very much she will ever come home again to live with us full time, so it was quite painful in a way.  We had a lovely day though, had a wander round Liverpool and I got to see where the Beatles used to sing.

I was allowed in the accommodation with her for 1 hour, so we unpacked and made her bed, most important the bed.  Stacey does so love her bed, apparently if it wasn't comfortable it would ruin her whole uni experience lol.   We had lunch and left her there and I managed not to cry.

I do look a bit pained though don't I   ... never mind I hid it well. :)

BUT the following weekend we all went to Porthmadog for the weekend, Stacey came down on the train and we spent the weekend in the camper,  so on the Sunday we drove her back to Liverpool and I had to leave her again !!! it was like pulling off the plaster twice !! I said to Steve I am not sure how many times I can do this without having a meltdown.

I am getting used to it now though, and I am currently decorating her bedroom all lovely for her visits home.

Justin and Megan and Albie came with us for the weekend, and although their awning blew away the second night, and we all had to share out toilet facilities all weekend because the facilities on the site were not open due to covid.  We all had a lovely weekend.  I won't share the pooh stories, I don't think they will be happy with me :)

Here are some pictures of our weekend.

So I think I will leave it at that for now,  I have to dash anyway because I am in Unit today, actually on campus for clinical skills and I don't want to be late!  its only the second time I have actually been in, in these 8 weeks so I'm still quite nervous.

Thanks for visiting my little blog.

Stay safe everyone, xxxxxx
