Abbreviations
ch = chain
yo = yarn over
sl st = slip stitch
tr = treble
dc = double crochet
ps = puff stitch *yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull through * repeat from *to * 3 times, (7 loops on hook) yo, pull through all 7 loops. Ch1 to close st.
4dctog = double crochet 4 stitches together . Yo insert hook into st, pull through. (3 loops on hook) yo insert hook into st, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook) yo pull through first 2 loops, (3 loops left on hook) yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull through, (5 loops on hook) yo, pull through first 2 loops, (4loops left on hook) yo, insert hook into st, yo pull through, yo pull through first 2 loops, (6 loops on hook) yo pull through first 2 loops, (5 loops left on hook) yo draw through all 5 loops on hook.
To begin .. ch4, sl st into 1st ch.
Round 1… ch2 (Counts as dc) 15dc into ch loop. Join with sl st to 1st dc. (16 dc) fasten off.
Round 3 … join with a new colour. Into ch sp of previous round ch2. 3dctog (Counts as 1, 4dctog) ch1, * 4dctog, 1ch* repeat 15 times around into each ch sp. (16 4dctog). Join with sl st to first ch2. Fasten off.
Round 4 … in any ch sp of previous round join new colour, ch2 (Counts as dc) 2dc in ch sp, in next ch sp work 3dc. In next ch sp work 3tr, 2ch, 3tr (corner st) *3dc* in next ch sp * 3 times, corner st into next ch sp. Repeat around. Join with sl st to first 2ch. You should New have a round with 4 corners with 3 x 3 dc in between. Fasten off
So there you go. A Sunburst Circle to form a Granny Square.
