Blogs

Its been a while

Its been a while since I wrote anything on here.  I confess I'm hopeless.  when I go to blog I always think why on earth would anyone be interested in anything I have to say! so that's as far as I get.

last time I wrote on here was summer ! since then we went to France, it was a long long way. But oh my what a beautiful country, two weeks was not long enough.

I took my crochet, my Star Blazer blanket which I have now finished and the pattern is out there.

We have spent our first summer in our new home. I threw myself into my garden with gusto, growing seedlings in abundance, I went a bit mad to be honest. I think my seed purchases were catching up with my yarn purchases for a while! the problem was my labelling was a bit unorganised and I had plants growing everywhere with no clue what they were and because I had planted them quite late in the season they didn't bloom till late September, some in fact not at all.

Since I last blogged my crochet projects have mainly been my Star Blazer blanket, and a baby blanket (sill in progress).  The Star blanket measures 155cm x 255cm and I am so pleased with it. The baby blanket is well under way too.

My big big news is I am going to be a Nan ! my eldest son Justin and his lovely girlfriend are expecting in March 2020, even more exciting as he had testicular cancer at 19 which spread to his stomach and in all honesty I never really thought he would be able to have children because of this.  He does have some on ice but I was still skeptical so I am doubly excited.

We visited Saundersfoot in September, we managed to escape for 4 nights child free in gale force winds and rain. but we had a fantastic time. The rain didn't stop us we walked for miles and visited Barfundel Bay, found a lovely pub called the Wisemans Bridge and basically found out that we like Minnie the motorhome as a two birth best of all ha ha.

I joined the WI and have made some lovely new friends, its certainly not all Jam and Jerusalem I can tell you. They are a young bunch and the monthly meetings are a laugh. I have learnt to make a pork pie, had a gin tasting evening, learn to charlestone ( well not exactly learnt we did a dance and I have forgot it ) and seen owls. Its fun you can't knock it.

So, the summer has flew by, we are now into winter. I've had my ups and downs, some days I can cope better than others, some days I have no idea if I can or want to carry on, I miss my boy. Anyway less of that ! I'm learning to laugh again. as my friend says when she is down, she gives herself a mental kick up the arse and tells herself she's not dead so what could be worse, she does have a point. so here is a pic of Ella's fandango to lighten the mood :)

I will leave you with that for now.  More to tell, I will write about my star blanket, and also our new addition to our family in a separate post, I hope you will pop back to read it.

Thanks for dropping by xxxx
